My professional name is Ruth Gordon, but my friends call me “Bunny”, which is a childhood nickname. I have been a psychotherapist for over 30 years, and am a licensed independent clinical social worker in both Massachusetts and Florida. After I had my 3 children, I went back to school and received 2 masters degrees: Psych & Counseling at Assumption College, Worcester, MA and Clinical Social Work at Boston University., Boston, MA I have worked in many different settings, including: Psychiatric Hospital Residential school for disturbed adolescents, where I was the clinical director Youth Guidance Center Private cognitive/behavioral group practice Pastoral counseling center Professor of psychology at Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester, MA Private practice I was divorced in ’81 and remarried in ’95. My husband and I moved to Bonita Springs from Boston in 2000. I opened my practice here in 2003. It seems to me that, quite often, people lose their sense of joy in life. It is not unusual to find that such individuals feel hopeless and powerless. This is a great concern for me. I believe that few people must remain in a position of helplessness. So often, by looking at things from a different point of view, we can discover resources we never knew we had as well as the courage and strength to pursue our dreams. While we all know that life is difficult, we tend to forget that there is great joy to be found in this life that we live. I find utmost satisfaction in helping women, men, adolescents, and couples rediscover their passion and delight. It is never too late to find that which makes your heart sing. We human beings have the potential to be truly fabulous forever. It is my great pleasure to help open the door to the discovery of one’s bliss.
