Anxiety can show up as persistent worry, fear in social situations, panic, or avoidance of particular places and experiences. These questionnaires help you choose a closer starting point. The GAD-7 looks at general anxiety symptoms, the SPIN explores social anxiety, and the OCI-R covers several kinds of obsessive-compulsive symptoms. More focused tools address intrusive thoughts, health worries, specific fears, and related repetitive behaviors that may be difficult to describe.
You do not need to know the name of a condition before choosing a test. Start with the experience that is getting in your way, such as worry, checking, avoidance, hair pulling, or skin picking. Similar experiences can have different explanations, and OCD is not simply another name for anxiety. These educational screens can help organize a conversation with a professional, but they cannot confirm a condition or rule one out.

Anxiety and OCD tests FAQ
Should I choose the GAD-7 or the OCD test?
The GAD-7 is a broad starting point for general worry. The OCI-R is more relevant when you want to explore obsessions or compulsions, including repeated checking or other rituals. Experiences can overlap, so choose the closest question first rather than expecting either result to explain everything you notice.
Is OCPD the same thing as OCD?
No. OCD and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder are different concepts, even though their names look similar. The OCD tools here focus on obsessions and compulsions. The OCPD questionnaire sits in the personality disorder and trait collection and explores other patterns. Neither online screen can tell you which diagnosis, if any, applies.
Can repeated testing make worries harder to settle?
If you find yourself retaking a questionnaire to feel certain or reassured, another score may not answer the underlying concern. Pause and consider discussing the pattern with a qualified professional. One result can be a conversation aid; you do not need to keep checking until the number feels comfortable.
What if I feel unsafe or physically unwell?
A questionnaire cannot assess an emergency or explain new physical symptoms. Contact local emergency services if you are in immediate danger or facing a medical emergency. In the US, call or text 988 for suicidal thoughts or emotional crisis. You can seek support before completing any screen, whatever your score might be.
