My style: direct, supportive, collaborative
“Therapy rooted in advocacy, because healing and justice are not separate things.”
If you've been shaped by violence, marginalization, or the weight of living in systems that weren't built for you, you deserve a therapist who understands that your pain has context. I bring a social-justice lens to every session, because treatment that ignores the world around you isn't really treating you.

About Elizabeth
If you've been shaped by violence, marginalization, or the weight of living in systems that weren't built for you, you deserve a therapist who understands that your pain has context. I bring a social-justice lens to every session, because treatment that ignores the world around you isn't really treating you. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, identity questions, life transitions, and the stress of a political climate that directly affects their safety.
I've worked extensively with LGBTQIA+ clients, immigrant clients, and survivors of sexual violence. Telehealth across Michigan. Sessions run by secure video with live captions and written chat; no phone call is needed to get started. Text (810) 394-8921 or request an appointment at forestfernscounseling.com/get-started.
My approach
I draw primarily from CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Behavioral Activation, adapted to each client's life rather than applied mechanically. I'm also learning linguistically responsive care for Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients.
About me
My clinical training is rooted in community settings: Eastern Michigan University's Community Behavioral Health Clinic and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan, serving underserved kids and families. I'm a 3rd-year clinical psychology doctoral student practicing as a TLLP under the supervision of Mel Whalen, PhD, LP, at Forest Ferns Counseling.
