About Joshua
Are you tired of masking? Maybe you’re great at your job but worn out from acting “fine” all day. Maybe you have ADHD or autism, or think you might, and you’ve spent years being told your brain is the problem. Maybe you’re queer or trans and carrying stress the world put on you.
I work with queer and neurodivergent adults, especially high-achieving people facing burnout, anxiety, and a harsh inner critic. I also help couples heal from hurt and broken trust, and I provide gender-affirming care, including letters for gender-affirming surgery.
You don’t need fixing. You need a map. Together, we’ll build the support you actually need, so you can stop performing, start feeling present, and stand in the sun of your own life.
My approach
I blend Attachment Theory, DBT, and EFT. Some days we work on practical things, like grounding tools for when your senses or your to-do list feel like too much. Other days we go deeper, into old attachment wounds and the harsh inner voice that keeps you masking. Here, you don’t have to perform. You get a calm space with no judgment.
About me
I’m a queer, AuDHD Person of Color who knows minority stress from the inside. I spent years in community behavioral health and crisis units and saw how easily queer and neurodivergent people get lost in rigid systems. So I built Queer Pathways, a virtual practice where who you are is never the problem. Our community is strong. I’m here to help you feel it.
More background
I was inspired by the strength I’ve seen in the queer community. For too long, being “different” or having a busy mind has been treated as something to cure. I became a therapist to help flip that script. I wanted to build a safe place where your identity isn’t a problem to solve. My favorite moment in this work is when a client stops performing, starts being present, and sees that their ADHD or autism is a source of creativity and deep empathy.
What a first session looks like Our first session isn’t an interrogation. It’s more like working on a puzzle together. We’ll start to notice the inner critic that keeps you masking, and the constant low hum of overwhelm you may be carrying. My goal is for you to leave our first 50 minutes feeling seen, not just “assessed.” You’ll also leave with at least one body-based tool to help calm your nervous system before we meet again.
How I work Your brain isn’t broken. I don’t see ADHD or other kinds of neurodivergence as something to fix. I help high-achieving people who mask stop punishing themselves for a brain that’s wired differently, and start building the support they actually need.
I know this from the inside. As a queer Person of Color, I understand what it’s like to live with systems that push you to the margins. I don’t just sympathize with minority stress. I help you move through it and find your strength.
I offer a safe harbor with no judgment. I’m influenced by the teachings of Ram Dass and the idea of unconditional presence. When you don’t have to wear the “work mask” or pretend you’re okay, real healing can start.
I blend Attachment Theory, DBT, and EFT. We can work on practical skills, like grounding tools for when your senses or your to-do list feel like too much. We can also go deeper, into old attachment wounds and the harsh inner voice that’s been running the show.
Gender-affirming care is part of my mission. That includes letters for gender-affirming surgery, and care that puts you first, not your diagnosis.
My path My path to Queer Pathways wasn’t a straight line. I spent years in community behavioral health and crisis units. That work was my training ground. It taught me how to help people at their most vulnerable. It also showed me how easily queer and neurodivergent people get lost in rigid, traditional systems.
I moved into private practice so I could focus on what matters most to me: the place where queer identity and neurodivergence meet. I’ve helped high-achieving professionals through burnout, helped couples heal attachment injuries, and provided gender-affirming care. Today I run a virtual practice built to be easy for a busy mind and caring toward people who’ve been pushed to the margins.
