About Christian

Most of my clients don't look like they need therapy. They're high achievers, creatives, and performers who are very good at holding it together. Behind that there's a 2am spiral, anxiety they've been managing alone, and a gap between how they show up and how they actually feel.

If you've been telling yourself you should be able to handle this on your own, that's usually the sign you don't have to.

My approach

I'm a bilingual (English and Spanish) licensed professional counselor working with adults across Texas by telehealth. My work is existential and relational: less interested in labeling what's wrong, more interested in what's driving it. We look at the mode you've been running in, where it came from, and what it's costing you now.

About me

I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can hear how I work before you commit to anything. In-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and Curative; superbills available for other plans. Telehealth statewide, with evening and Saturday availability.

More background

What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

I came to therapy through my own burnout and anxiety, as a gay, neurodivergent, Mexican-American person. After therapy helped me, I wanted to do this work. I have a BA in Vocal Performance, and singing taught me to listen closely and notice patterns. I use that in session.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

I’m collaborative and direct. I bring practical tools, and I want to hear your story and your culture before I use any of them. My practice is trauma-informed, bilingual (English/Español), LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodiversity-affirming. We go at your pace.

In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?

Navigating multiple identities has taught me the importance of safe, culturally responsive spaces. Being gay, Mexican‑American and neurodivergent informs my commitment to creating a nonjudgmental environment where you can bring your whole self. I believe therapy works best when it honors your lived experience and embraces all of your emotions.

Work history

Before founding Socorro Counseling, I worked in community mental health and private practice settings serving adults and teens dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. These roles taught me the value of culturally responsive care and honed my skills in existential therapy blended with CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and somatic tools. I help high-achieving professionals, creatives, men, neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ adults slow down, reconnect with their strengths, and build practical tools for lasting change.
