About Kalen
Kalen D. Zeiger, PhD, LMFT, EMDRPT-II, CCTP, CFTP, is a marriage and family therapist, clinical supervisor, faculty member, researcher, and author. They are licensed in Colorado, Iowa, and Wisconsin and work as a psychotherapist and Director of Clinical Development at Radiant Pathways Counseling and Wellness. They also serve as Core Faculty at Antioch University, where they teach and conduct research in the graduate programs of couple and family therapy, sex therapy, and gender-affirming clinical practice.
Kalen's clinical work focuses on trauma, LGBTQ+ affirmative care, couples and relational therapy, and the intersections of identity, relationships, and mental health. Their therapeutic approach draws primarily from postmodern therapy models and EMDR. Kalen also provides clinical supervision as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor to developing and practicing therapists. Their clinical work includes treating PTSD, trauma, anxiety, adjustment and stress, as well as concerns related to sexuality, gender, identity, and relationships, and providing gender-affirming assessments and letters of support.
Kalen's research and writing span transgender and LGBTQ+ health, minority stress, trauma, relationships, inclusive clinical practices, and clinical measurement and assessment. They have authored book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, and mental health articles and regularly present their research at national and international conferences. Kalen has completed a PhD in Couple and Family Therapy and an MA in Educational Measurement and Statistics from the University of Iowa, and an MS in Human Development and Family Science with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Central Missouri.
