About Sarah
If you're living with a chronic illness, an autoimmune condition, or the aftermath of medical experiences that left you feeling dismissed or gaslit, you deserve a therapist who gets it without you having to prove it first. I work with people managing the daily weight of illness alongside everything else life asks of them: the identity shifts that come with diagnosis, the grief of losing the life you planned, the strain on relationships, and the frustration of being dismissed by the systems meant to help. I believe you, and we start there.
I also work with pregnancy and postpartum transitions, caregivers, neurodivergent clients, eating distress, and people rebuilding after narcissistic abuse or domestic violence. Telehealth across Michigan. Sessions run by secure video with live captions and written chat; no phone call is needed to get started. Text (810) 394-8921 or request an appointment at forestfernscounseling.com/get-started.
My approach
My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based and collaborative; you are the expert on your own body and your own life. Before becoming a therapist I was a visual artist, designer, and educator, and I bring that lens into clinical work through arts-based and narrative approaches for clients who connect with creative expression.
About me
I'm a Limited Licensed Master Social Worker with Forest Ferns Counseling, a Deaf-led Michigan group practice. I practice with cultural humility and welcome clients of every background, including those navigating cultural transitions, chronic illness, and disability.
