About Martez

Life can be complicated. Sometimes you're carrying more than you know how to handle. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, identity, or major life transitions, you don't have to figure it all out alone.

I work with people who are trying to make sense of their experiences, break patterns that no longer serve them, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. My practice especially affirms Black and LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as others navigating the intersections of identity, culture, and lived experience.

My approach

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. I bring a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens to our work, balancing honest conversations with practical tools. We'll explore what's happening, why it matters, and what meaningful change looks like for you.

About me

I'm a licensed social worker, psychotherapist, and public health researcher with a PhD in Nursing and Health Science. My work centers on the connections between mental health, identity, relationships, and the social environments we navigate. I believe therapy should be affirming, accessible, and grounded in the realities of your everyday life.
