About Lauri
I am a clinical health psychologist with a specialty in behavioral medicine, and I work with children, adolescents, adults and older adults, ages 10 to 100, in individual, couples and family therapy. My approach goes beyond talk therapy: I integrate CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS, Family Systems Therapy, hypnosis, TFT and somatic work with mindfulness and emotional processing, and I draw on more than a decade of my own meditation and pranayama practice. I see healing as mental, emotional and physical at once.
I help people release stored trauma, regulate the nervous system and build emotional resilience, and I work from each person's strengths to support their growth and transformation.
My approach
I am trained in EMDR, TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises), the Safe and Sound Protocol, biofeedback, somatic breathwork, hypnosis, meditation and Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration, and I offer holistic, trauma-informed care. With couples I use the Gottman approach to rebuild connection.
About me
I offer day, evening and weekend appointments, in person in Elm Grove, Shorewood, Racine, Wauwatosa and Menasha and by secure telehealth. Clients describe me as easy to talk to, accepting, pragmatic, inspirational and wise, with a good sense of humor.
More background
I am a clinical health psychologist with a specialty in behavioral medicine. I work with children, adolescents, adults and older adults, ages 10 to 100, offering individual, couples and family therapy, and I am dedicated to helping people build meaningful connections and meet life's challenges with strength and clarity.
I received specialty training in mind body medicine at Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Hospital and the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. In sessions I integrate CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS, EMDR, Family Systems Therapy, existential, narrative and mindfulness-based approaches, feminist psychology, positive psychology and the Gottman method, within multicultural frameworks. I am trained in TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises), the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), biofeedback, somatic breathwork, hypnosis, TFT, meditation and Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration. With more than a decade of meditation and pranayama practice, I see healing as a multi-layered process: mental, emotional and physical.
My approach goes beyond talk therapy. I help people release stored trauma, regulate the nervous system and cultivate emotional resilience, and I work from each person's strengths to encourage positive growth and transformation. My style is client-centered, nonjudgmental, compassionate and direct, and together we address the root causes of what brings you in. Clients describe me as easy to talk to, accepting, pragmatic, inspirational and wise, with a good sense of humor.
I work with people experiencing stress and burnout, anxiety, depression, loneliness, grief, PTSD and trauma, nightmares and flashbacks, ADHD/ADD, autism and neurodivergence, eating disorders, insomnia and sleep problems, sexual dysfunction, relationship and marital conflict, separation and divorce, family conflict, work-life balance, adjustment, substance use and addictions, perfectionism, body image, gaslighting, codependency, narcissism, loss of meaning, purpose or direction, physical, sexual or emotional abuse, low self-esteem, attachment, spirituality, communication, career questions and negative thought patterns, including first responders and military personnel. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming. With couples I use the Gottman approach to rebuild connection.
I offer day, evening and weekend appointments, in person in Elm Grove, Shorewood, Racine, Wauwatosa and Menasha and by secure telehealth.
