David A. Brooks, PhD, ABPP, ABN, is a licensed clinical psychologist, a board-certified rehabilitation psychologist, and a board-certified neuropsychologist with more than 30 years of clinical experience. He owns Dakota Trauma Therapy and Neuropsychology PLLC in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he provides trauma-focused psychotherapy using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

For 25 years he served as a neuropsychologist at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, where he assessed and treated depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress, conducted psychotherapy for trauma, loss, and adjustment to disability, and performed pre-surgical psychological evaluations. Earlier in his career he directed neuropsychological services at a rehabilitation hospital and taught clinical neuropsychology at the university level.

Dr. Brooks earned his PhD in school psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology from Ball State University, an APA-approved program, along with an MS from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and a BA, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota.
