Your ChoosingTherapy profile comes down
Every provider listing on the ChoosingTherapy directory closes on that date. The articles, tests and worksheets on ChoosingTherapy stay, and ChoosingTherapy stays ad-free.
Your profile arrives pre-filled
Bio, credentials, specialties, insurance, fees, location and photo come over from ChoosingTherapy. It lands unpublished. Edit anything you like, then publish it yourself.
ChoosingTherapy sends its readers here
Every article, test and worksheet on ChoosingTherapy now carries a Find a therapist link that points to the Psychology.com directory. The readers who used to find you through ChoosingTherapy keep arriving. The listing they land on is yours.
$35 instead of $49, for as long as you stay
That is $168 a year less than every provider who joins after you. It never goes up while your membership is active. It is only for ChoosingTherapy providers who join before 31 October.
This is your listing. It comes with you.
- ✓Your name, credentials, license details and NPI, ready for our verification check.
- ✓Your bio, specialties, therapy types, languages and the insurance you take.
- ✓Your photo, fees, session formats and practice location.
You review everything in your dashboard before it goes live. Nothing is published until you say so, and we run our own NPI Registry match on every profile, the same as for every member.

Nobody reads page twelve.
ChoosingTherapy listed just over 6,000 providers. Psychology Today lists hundreds of thousands. On a list that long, any single profile is easy to miss.
Psychology.com lists a few hundred, all paying and matched to the federal NPI Registry. The shorter the list, the more of it a client actually reads, and your profile is on it.
What a client sees
One flat price. Everything on your terms.
$35 flat for ChoosingTherapy providers
First 30 days free. Then $35 a month or $350 a year, locked for as long as you stay. Never a per-lead fee, never a cut of a client, never a surprise line item.
Your inquiries are yours
No shared intake lines, no re-routing to other providers. Someone who reaches out reaches you: the message is stored encrypted and emailed to your inbox, with the client's address as the reply-to.
A domain people already type, and a publisher sending them to it
Psychology.com has been at the same address since 1995, and it is growing fast: its Google traffic more than quadrupled in September, built on tests and tools rather than articles. ChoosingTherapy, read by hundreds of thousands of people a month, promotes this directory on every page.
Verified means verified
Identity matched to the federal NPI Registry, then your license checked with your state board. Both dates are shown publicly on your profile.

How Psychology.com compares with the directory most providers already pay for.
About $5 a month more than Psychology Today, to be one of a few hundred instead of one of 277,682.
ChoosingTherapy listing count from the directory sitemap, September 2026. Psychology Today listing count from its published state directory pages, July 2026; pricing confirmed August 2026, standard individual listing. Psychology.com member count as of September 2026.
$35 a month before 31 October.
or $350 a year instead of $490. First 30 days free and $0 is due today. The rate locks at sign-up and never rises while you stay. Cancel anytime.
$350 a year is less than most therapists bill for three sessions. One client who stays a few weeks covers the whole year, and everything after that is yours.
Offer ends in 40 days.
- ✓A registry-checked listing on a paid-only panel
- ✓A profile page built to rank for your name, your specialties, and your city
- ✓A dofollow link to your own website from your profile
- ✓Inquiries straight to your inbox, with a dashboard to track them
- ✓Results follow the client's filters. Placement is never for sale.

Your profile is already filled in from ChoosingTherapy.
Check it, adjust anything you like, and publish
We match you to the NPI Registry and you are live, with a dated verified badge once the state-board check is recorded.

FAQs
What happens to my ChoosingTherapy profile?
It comes off the ChoosingTherapy directory on 31 October 2026, along with every other provider listing. Your photo and details are copied here so they survive the shutdown. If you move before then, there is no gap.
Will clients find me through AI assistants?
Your profile page is public, indexed by Google and structured so that the AI assistants people now ask for provider recommendations can read it: name, specialties, location, insurance and the date of your verification. There is no login wall between a client, or an assistant, and your listing.
Do I have to be verified again?
Not by you. Your license details come across from ChoosingTherapy. We match your identity to the federal NPI Registry when you publish, and our license queue checks your state board and dates the result on your profile. You do nothing for that.
I got no clients from ChoosingTherapy. Why would this be different?
Because ChoosingTherapy was free and open, 6,000 providers shared whatever inquiries it produced, and most profiles sat far down a long list. Psychology.com is a few hundred paying members, so each profile is one of a short list rather than one of thousands. The readers ChoosingTherapy had are not going away: every article now points them to this directory. You can see for yourself what arrives in the free month before you pay anything.
How do clients find Psychology.com?
Mostly through Google, and increasingly through AI assistants. Psychology.com's Google traffic more than quadrupled in September 2026, and the growth comes from hundreds of interactive pages, self-assessments, screening tests and worksheets, that people search for and use, then follow to the directory. Articles are losing clicks to AI summaries across the web; a test cannot be taken inside a summary, which is why the site is built on tools. On top of that, ChoosingTherapy promotes this directory from every one of its pages.
I am already on Psychology Today. Why both?
Keep Psychology Today for its reach. Add Psychology.com for a short, verified list that a client actually reads to the end, at about $5 a month more. If the second listing brings one client a year, it has paid for itself several times over. On a list of hundreds of thousands, one profile is easy to miss. Here you are one of a few hundred, on a domain that has carried this exact question since 1995.
Can I wait and join later?
You can, but three things end on 31 October: the pre-filled profile, the license carry-over from ChoosingTherapy, and the $35 rate. After that date you would start from a blank form at the standard $49. Moving now takes a few minutes and costs nothing for 30 days.
Is the $35 rate permanent?
Yes, for as long as your membership stays active. It is a rate for ChoosingTherapy providers who join before the directory closes. After that, new members pay the standard $49.
What if almost nobody in my state is listed yet?
Then you are one of the first your state's clients see. The list is short by design, and clients filter by specialty, state and insurance.
What stays on ChoosingTherapy?
The articles, tests, worksheets, and the state and insurance pages. ChoosingTherapy stays ad-free.
When do the 30 free days start?
At sign-up, not at publish. So publish your profile straight away and use the whole month to see what arrives. The 30 free days run from the day you sign up, and your card is not charged until a client has contacted you through Psychology.com, and never before day 31. Cancel in that time and you pay nothing.
Is the annual plan really two months free?
Yes. $350 a year is twelve months for the price of ten at the $35 rate, and the free month still comes first.
I am licensed in more than one state.
Your profile carries one license state, checked with that state's board and dated on your profile, and that is the state clients find you under when they filter. An out-of-state telehealth registration, such as Florida's, can be recorded beside it with its own dated check. If you hold full licenses in more than one state, write to directory.support@choosingtherapy.com and we will set your profile up by hand.
My insurer is not in your list.
Tell us which one and we add it, including regional plans. Write to directory.support@choosingtherapy.com or reply to the email that brought you here.
Can I cancel?
Anytime. No contract, no cancellation fee. When your membership ends, your profile comes off the directory. Rejoin later and it is restored, though the ChoosingTherapy rate is only for those who joined before 31 October.
Do inquiries really come straight to me?
Yes. A client who wants you contacts you through our form; the message is stored encrypted and emailed to you directly, with their address as the reply-to. Nothing is re-routed to another provider or a platform booking flow.
Does paying get me better placement?
No member can pay to outrank another. Members are listed ahead of unclaimed legacy listings; within members, results follow the client's filters, never payment. Separately, a group practice can pay for a labeled Featured practice block on a state page. It sits apart from the results, says it is paid, and changes nobody's position in the results.
Do you take a cut of the clients I get?
No. No fee per referral, per client, or per session, and no percentage of anything. The flat subscription is the entire deal.
Keep being found, at $35 instead of $49.

A note on independence. Providers on Psychology.com are independent licensed professionals, not employees or agents of Psychology.com. Verification reflects checks completed at a point in time against the federal NPI Registry and, where available, a state licensing board's public lookup; it is not a guarantee of current standing, quality of care, or fit. Psychology.com does not provide therapy and is not an emergency service.
