My approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard and respected. About me
I am a compassionate Christian therapist who believes lasting healing begins with understanding each person’s story and honoring the God-given value of every individual. More background
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I believe in creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where people feel heard, respected, and valued. I take a collaborative, person-centered approach and believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, help you identify your strengths and goals, and support you in making meaningful changes. I am straightforward, compassionate, and practical in my approach. I may gently challenge you when needed, but I will always do so with respect and understanding. I use evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and other interventions tailored to each person's needs. If faith is important to you, I am also comfortable incorporating Christian faith into counseling when requested. Most importantly, I want you to feel that you can be honest and authentic in our work together without fear of judgment.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
I believe one of the biggest barriers to seeking care is the stigma surrounding mental health and the fear of being judged or misunderstood. Many people struggle with the idea of asking for help or may feel that they should be able to handle everything on their own. There are also practical barriers, including cost, insurance limitations, transportation, availability of providers, and difficulty finding a clinician who feels like the right fit. I believe it is important to make mental health care approachable, accessible, and judgment-free so people feel comfortable taking that first step toward support.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Clients can expect to leave sessions with greater insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, along with practical tools they can use in their everyday lives. My goal is to help clients develop healthier coping skills, improve communication and relationships, manage stress and difficult emotions, and build confidence in their ability to navigate challenges. I want clients to feel heard, supported, and empowered—not simply to talk about their problems, but to develop realistic strategies and make meaningful progress toward their goals. When appropriate, clients can also expect to identify patterns that may be holding them back and work together to create actionable steps for positive change.
Work history
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with people facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, anger, grief, substance use, housing instability, and major life transitions. My experience in outpatient counseling, crisis intervention, and community-based mental health has taught me that every person’s situation is different and that effective counseling needs to meet people where they are. Working in crisis services and with a Mobile Crisis Team has strengthened my ability to support people during some of the most difficult and overwhelming moments of their lives. These experiences have helped me develop a particular interest in helping people manage intense emotions, cope with trauma, work through difficult situations, and develop practical skills to move forward. My outpatient counseling experience has also allowed me to work with individuals, couples, and families on improving communication, strengthening relationships, managing anger, building healthier coping skills, and making meaningful changes. I use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and other practical strategies based on each person's needs and goals. I also understand that seeking counseling can be difficult. My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where clients can be honest about what they are experiencing. If faith is important to you, I am also open to incorporating Christian faith into counseling when requested.
