Which couples therapy directory matches your current qualification?

Begin with the qualification you hold today, not the one you plan to earn. A clinician with Gottman Level 1, an EFT externship attendee and an RLT certification graduate have different listing options. The price of a profile is only useful once you know that your current status qualifies you to create it.

Separate three expenses: the training or credential, the association membership and any additional public profile subscription. A network may charge only the last item, while an association may bundle visibility with professional benefits. A program tuition figure should never appear as the monthly price of a therapist listing.

What does the Gottman Referral Network require and cost?

The Gottman Referral Network's join page, accessed September 26, 2026, lists Level 2 or Level 3 membership at "$50" monthly or "$540" annually. Certified Gottman Therapists pay "$30" monthly or "$324" annually. It advertises a 30-day trial at gottmanreferralnetwork.com/join. The annual equivalents are $45 and $27 per month respectively, but the annual payment is collected as an annual commitment.

The page requires at least Level 2 training, a master's or doctoral degree in a mental health field, applicable professional licensure or certification, and liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate. Level 1 alone does not meet the stated training gate. This is a concrete distinction that a generic couples directory comparison can miss.

Level 2 and Level 3 completion do not make you a Certified Gottman Therapist. Use the actual training title on the profile. Certification has its own process and expenses; the cheaper certified subscription does not mean certification should be pursued merely to reduce an advertising bill.

For a clinician already meeting the requirements, the purchase is straightforward to test: a method-specific public profile at the published recurring fee. Assess whether inquiries fit the couples work and appointment format you offer. The training brand does not guarantee local demand or a particular search position.

How does the RLT therapist directory work?

Relational Life's Choosing an RLT Therapist FAQ says its practitioner directory represents graduates of its certification program. The page distinguishes that preparation from self-study courses, and the network includes therapists and coaches. A licensed clinician should make the clinical license explicit rather than assuming every directory visitor understands the difference between those roles.

The separate certification financial FAQ publishes "$7900" for the therapist training track when all courses are needed, with a stated $400 reduction for paying in full. A separate recurring public listing price is not published in those checked FAQ pages. Obtain the current graduate listing and maintenance terms before assigning the entire training cost to advertising or assuming a permanent free profile. If you have completed only introductory RLT education, describe that education accurately in a general profile. Do not imply that you have graduated from the certification program or qualify for its practitioner network before that is true.

What does ICEEFT membership include for EFT clinicians?

ICEEFT's membership page, accessed September 26, 2026, publishes annual dues of "CAD $85" at iceeft.com/iceeft-membership/. Eligible annual members receive a Find-a-Therapist listing after completing an EFCT Externship or qualifying EFIT or EFFT Essentials training with a Certified EFT Trainer. For a couples practice, identify the couples-specific training you actually completed; individual or family training should not be relabeled as couples certification.

Associate membership is also CAD $85 but excludes the public directory. Student membership likewise excludes it, even when a student has completed foundational training; the page specifies that students need full licensure for full membership. The fact that money changes hands does not establish public listing eligibility.

Membership and EFT certification remain separate. Do not describe an externship as certification or assume that the membership dues pay for the entire certification process. Use the precise training or credential label supplied by the organization and keep any additional education budget separate.

ICEEFT also identifies affiliated communities and centres. It is therefore inaccurate to describe the entire public directory as certified-only. Do not infer the exact admission stage for every trainee from an existing profile, however.

Its membership page at imagorelationshipswork.com/imago-for-professionals/irna-membership/ offers US, international and trainee application routes. The page reviewed did not publish a numeric dues amount, and the linked US and trainee checkout pages could not be retrieved. Current dues and the exact listing entitlement for each training stage remain unverified here.

Before purchasing, obtain written confirmation of which completed training qualifies you, which status will display, whether membership includes the public profile and what renewal requires. Imago's clinical therapist training and its facilitator or coaching pathways should not be collapsed into one clinical credential. As a licensed clinician, show both your board credential and your actual method status.

This is a useful candidate for someone already involved in Imago training, but not a fully priced recommendation based on the material available. A current quote is more useful than a confident fee copied from an old comparison.

What does AAMFT's Therapist Locator cost an MFT?

AAMFT's join page quotes "$216" for US Professional membership at aamft.org/join, accessed September 26, 2026. Professional membership eligibility is broader than the Clinical Fellow designation. Clinical Fellow applicants follow the highest-level MFT licensure route or an evaluated education and clinical training route described on AAMFT's Designations page.

The association's locator help page explains that a member must opt into the public profile through account preferences and complete the required practice information. Its Clinical Fellow renewal guidance, updated May 12, 2026, also identifies a designation renewal fee in addition to maintaining membership, but does not publish that fee's amount. Do not treat $216 as a verified total for every credential and benefit combination.

Before joining solely for the locator, have member services confirm your category's public listing eligibility, any required designation and the full current invoice. The accessible profile-editing instructions do not resolve every category's entitlement. A general membership purchase alone should not be represented as a guaranteed active public listing.

For an existing eligible member, activating and maintaining the locator can be more economical than buying an unrelated profile while leaving this benefit unused. Confirm the public result after updating it, especially if your practice address, appointment format or availability has changed.

Compare the real couples placement expenses

How do couples search, and what should your profile say?

Where insurance is involved, describe your actual billing arrangement rather than implying all relationship services are covered.

A mainstream couples or marriage-counseling filter can reach people who have no preferred method. Psychology Today's general join page publishes "$29.95/month," checked September 26, 2026. A specialty filter does not establish Gottman, RLT, EFT or Imago certification. Describe the credential separately and avoid claiming that the directory has verified a training status unless its own policy says so.

Publisher disclosure: Psychology.com operates a directory. It fits as a general placement at $49 a month or $490 a year after a 30-day free trial, no per-lead fees. Compare that expense with the method-specific route you qualify for, using your own appropriate inquiries and available appointments.

Which placements are worth it for a new or established couples practice?

A new practice should use the eligibility it already has. Activate an included association profile, or test one method-specific subscription, before buying several similar placements. Training should follow your clinical development needs, not an assumption that a directory badge will repay tuition.

An established practice may benefit from a second placement that fills a specific appointment format or reaches people who recognize a particular method. Track whether that happens. A method-specific inquiry is not automatically a suitable client, and an inquiry that begins in a general search is not inherently less valuable.

Use a defined review period and count appropriate inquiries, consultations and attended first sessions. Avoid storing relationship histories in marketing records. If many contacts cannot use the available schedule, improve the profile's access information before buying more exposure. Do not ask current clients to provide testimonials to strengthen a couples profile. AAMFT's Code effective January 1, 2026 addresses promotional materials in Standard IX, including 9.2. Before renewing a method-specific profile, check that its displayed training status remains current and that any associated membership or insurance requirement is satisfied. Keep renewal dates separate: the directory subscription, professional credential and liability policy may expire at different times. Correct the public label when your status changes rather than allowing an old badge to describe a qualification you no longer maintain.
