Three hours of case-based clinical work with one defined population: immigrant and refugee adults. Three fictional clients, Farah, Tomas and Hana, carry you through cultural formulation, interpreter-mediated assessment, structural barriers, treatment adaptation and repair after a cultural misstep.

The course is built around decisions, not slogans: when a relative may interpret, what a translated screening score can and cannot tell you, how to record missed appointments without turning access barriers into character judgments, where clinical care ends and immigration legal advice begins, and how to turn one repair into a service improvement. Three hours are requested toward the Texas distinct-population requirement for counselors, social workers and marriage and family therapists, and toward California psychology's four-hour cultural diversity and social justice requirement, where it can supply three of the four hours. A separate one-hour implicit bias module is available for states that mandate it.

Common questions

Does it satisfy my state requirement?

Three hours are requested toward the Texas distinct-population requirement for counselors, social workers and marriage and family therapists; Texas does not pre-approve courses, so acceptance depends on your profession and provider rules. For California psychology it can supply three of the four required cultural diversity and social justice hours, not all four. The eligibility line will state confirmed coverage before you rely on it.

How is this different from generic diversity training?

It focuses on one defined population, immigrant and refugee adults, and on clinical decisions: cultural formulation, interpreter-mediated assessment, structural barriers, treatment adaptation and repair after a rupture.

Is the implicit bias hour included?

The one-hour Implicit Bias in Clinical Decisions module is a separate product built for state mandates that require that specific format.
