About Yoni
For nearly a decade, Dr. Mandelbaum has helped clients navigate life's hardest moments, working across a wide range of settings with people of all ages facing a variety of mental health and behavioral challenges. He meets with clients in person, by secure video, or through MindSwing, his unique service where sessions take place in private high-end golf simulators. While many clients prefer a classic therapy office, this more active option helps clients feel less guarded and more willing to open up in ways that can be hard to do in a traditional therapy space.
Dr. Mandelbaum earned his MSEd in School Psychology and PsyD in School-Clinical Child Psychology at Pace University, with extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic approaches. During graduate school, he provided outpatient psychotherapy to college-aged young adults at The Thomas J. McShane Center. His training also included a school psychology externship in the Rye City School District, an externship at Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center, and an internship at Green Chimneys Residential Treatment Center in Brewster, New York, where he conducted individual, group, and family therapy and psychological evaluations for children and adolescents.
He then joined The COR Group (now Inspire Wellness), a group private practice in Bergen County, NJ, first as a post-doctoral fellow and then as a full-time licensed psychologist working with children, adolescents, and adults. He went on to serve elderly adults as a psychologist in a Bronx nursing home with CHE Psychological Services, then provided mental health care to adolescents in NYC public schools through Montefiore Medical Center's School Health Program.
For the past seven years, Dr. Mandelbaum has balanced his private practice with his work as the Health and Wellness Coordinator at SAR High School, where he works with the health and wellness team to support students' emotional wellbeing and academic success.
