About this tool

The Wheel of Life is a simple, widely used self-reflection tool that gives you a snapshot of how satisfied you feel across the main areas of your life at once. Instead of judging your whole life by whatever is loudest today, you step back and rate each area on its own, from career and health to relationships and fun. The result is a clear, honest picture of where life feels full and where it feels neglected.

The value of the exercise is in the contrast. Most people discover that they pour energy into one or two areas while quietly letting others slide, and seeing that pattern laid out makes it easier to choose where to invest next. There is no ideal shape and no rule that every area must score a 10. Balance means something different for everyone, and a low score is not a failure, it is simply where your attention may be needed.

The Wheel works best as a starting point for reflection rather than a verdict. A low score raises a useful question: what would move this area up even one point. From there you can set a small, specific goal in the area that matters most to you right now, then revisit the Wheel in a month or two to see what has shifted.

Wheel of Life FAQ

What is the Wheel of Life?

It is a self-reflection tool that lets you rate your satisfaction across the main areas of your life at once, so you can see where you feel balanced and where you may want to focus. It is widely used in coaching and personal development.

What is a good score?

There is no ideal number or shape. The Wheel is not a test you pass or fail. What matters is the contrast between areas and what it tells you about where to put your attention next.

Is my information saved?

No. Everything stays in your browser. Your ratings are never uploaded or stored, and the PDF is generated on your own device.

How often should I do it?

Many people revisit it every month or two. Comparing your Wheel over time shows what is improving and where you may have drifted.

Important: The Wheel of Life is an educational self-reflection tool, not therapy or a diagnosis. If one or more areas feel persistently distressing, consider working with a licensed mental-health professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number or, in the US, call or text 988.
