About

By providing a safe and supportive environment, clients are able to explore new approaches to ongoing life challenges. Some techniques I use suggest that our thoughts effect how we behave. Therefore, if we change the way we think, we may notice changes in our overall mood and behavior. My optimistic and caring style support self growth and empowerment. Part of my role as a therapist is to help my clients establish realistic goals that bring about positive change. I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults. My goals with families include techniques that enhance communication. Teenagers enjoy coming to therapy and find that my style is understanding and non-judgemental. Because the transition to adulthood can be particularly challenging for teens and parents, I find that our sessions help promote responsibility and mutual respect. In my work with couples, we identify unhealthy patterns of communication and replace them with more effective communication styles. Couples usually report that they are able to notice themselves falling into old patterns and at the very least have a gained awareness of how they are treating their partner.
