Acceptance
By using Psychology.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Not medical advice
The content on Psychology.com is for general education only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified health professional. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read here. In an emergency, call your local emergency number, or call or text 988 in the US.
The therapist directory
The directory is an advertising and listing service. We do not employ the therapists listed, do not provide treatment, and do not recommend or endorse any provider. Inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement. We do not guarantee the qualifications, availability, or outcomes of any provider. Verify a provider's credentials and licensing with the relevant state board before beginning care. Any relationship you form is between you and that provider.
Therapist accounts and listings
If you create a listing, you represent that you are the person or authorized representative of the practice described, that you hold the licenses you claim and they are active and in good standing, and that the information you provide is accurate. You grant us a license to display and promote your listing. You are responsible for keeping it accurate. We may review, edit, refuse, suspend, or remove any listing, and we may verify your credentials, at our discretion. Listing is currently free; we may introduce paid features in the future with notice.
Verification and the "Verified" badge
A "Verified" badge means a member of our team checked the provider's license or primary credential against a government or licensing-board source at a point in time. It is a trust signal, not a guarantee of competence, current standing, or fitness for your needs, and it does not create any liability for us. Providers without a badge are listed based on the information they or public records provided. Always confirm credentials yourself before beginning care.
Profiles, reviews, and user content
Profiles, messages, and any reviews are created by users and providers, not by us. We are not responsible for, and do not endorse, user-submitted content, and consistent with Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act we are not the publisher or speaker of it. We may, but are not obligated to, moderate, edit, or remove content. Do not submit content that is false, defamatory, infringing, or that discloses another person's private or health information. If you respond to a review about your practice, do not confirm whether someone was your client or disclose any treatment details.
